About the SME Developers Network

Our Story

The SME Developer Network (Kent) was established in 2019, with the primary goal of bringing together a collective voice for SME Developers operating throughout Kent.

More than 35 companies, ranging in size and scale, now participate and contribute to the Network, with that figure growing regularly as the Network expands its reach throughout Kent and further afield.  Across the current membership, approximately 500 homes are constructed per annum, making a significant contribution to housing delivery.

The Network meet on a regular basis to debate and encourage engagement across a wide range of topics, including; planning, construction techniques, market affairs, legislation changes and professional development.  During these meetings, the Network have hosted guests including key stakeholders from Homes England, MHCLG, Heads of Local Planning Authorities, DLUHC and various Professional Consultancy practices.

Most recently the Network have drafted a Small Sites Policy which we have sought Local Authorities throughout Kent to adopt within their Local Plans.
